Cannonball often creates their magic from dropping the beats out for brief periods of time and featuring each of the 8 members taking over the rhythm including turntables, didgereedo, vocal a capella, and even horns. One of the most unique elements of the
band is that they will perform sold out shows at sit-down jazz clubs one night and rock the house at a "dance-your-butt-off" place the next night, and amaze both audiences equally. The Cannonball show is all about the unexpected.
One of the highlights of the band's performances is the showcase of the amazing vocals of freestyle rapper Dublin, vs. the three-piece horn section. The pinnacle of each Cannonball live show is when the band "tests" Dublin in various contests and games that challenge him in ways previously thought impossible to a vocalist in front of a live audience. Dublin brings the audience to a frenzy every time as if he were some type of magician. The Cannonball horns are highly accomplished and have performed with Carlos Santana and been featured with many other bands live and on record.
Cannonball has been performing extensively all over central and Northern California since the band started over 5 years ago. After the initial release of the bands first CD "Funky Soul" over 3 years ago, the band has released two more CDs "A Funky Christmas" and the critically acclaimed "Hiphopulation".
Cannonball is centered out of the San Francisco Bay Area and has been packing clubs in and around the city for many years now, including the legendary Elbo Room, Bruno's and Black Cat/ Blue Bar.890 Info & Bookings
