Miss Blair has fronted countless groups here in the States as well as in Paris, London and Zurich. She has a sound, either live or recorded, that is distinctly her own. The leader of the group, Steve Dekrone, who learned his basics at Berklee School of Music, writes the arrangements providing a perfect backdrop to highlight Miss B's crooning ability. Belinda and Steve met through musicians playing swing on the streets of Paris and are the two founding members and songwriters of Jellyroll. The musicianship of the band is as precise as a well-made martini. The horns blow hard and often hellacious with Gavin Distasi on trumpet and Dave Wells on tenor sax - these cats are a tight little section and both are righteous and exciting jump soloists. John Finkbeiner is a vintage guitar player who really knows his stuff. Be it the guitar works of Charlie Christian or T-Bone Walker he knows how to take you there.
